The above screenshots show the development of our script for our film trailer; we thought this was a necessary aspect of our planning because it gave us an idea of the progression of our trailer.

Below is our timeline of camera shots for the progression of our film trailer, with thr rough timings of each shot so we could figure out how long the trailer would be overall:
*As we began filming and editing, we decided to replace the library footage with an over-the-shoulder shot of Devon looking through photos of her and her partner in the film trailer (Connor). Furthermore, we decided against using the age certificate at the beginning as we found from research that it was mostly used at the end of the trailer, if at all.
Above is the first draft of a storyboard we created based on the first draft of our camera shots timeline. The storyboard includes the camera shots but not the screens where we are going to put reviews and our production company logo as we are not completely sure where we want the reviews to be within the trailer. We have decided that we will wait until we start editing our footage to place the reviews as then we can see where they link into the trailer effectively

Below is screenshots of texts I sent to Devon and Connor asking if they would take part in our project:

Costume and Make-up:
We decided that for costume and make-up we would make both natural, without much planning involved, becuase from our research we saw that there was not any specific costumes or make-up for our genres. Also, by having our actors wearing ordinary clothes and make-up it added to the surface realism of the trailer, film poster and website, which is a classic convention of British film.

Location:
For location of the film trailer, we decided to use Alba's house for the lounge and the kitchen, for the scenes where Devon is listening to the news report, and where Devon and Ellen are talking. For the party scenes, the location we have decided to use is my friend Flynn's house as it is going to be convenient for this type of filming. For the photoshoot, needed for our film poster and website, we have decided to use my house (Shola) and the beach.

Title Ideas:
In choosing our ideas for the title of our film, we mind-mapped words that had connotations and associations with both British and melodrama genres, and came up with those seen above. One way we gained further ideas on this was by asking other sixth formers about what words they associated with British/Britain. We decided to do this, as we only had a few ideas of our own and thought it would be a good idea to get other people's perspectives. The video below shows this:
One title idea came from a peer in sixth form, which is shown below:

Music:
We decided that for music we were going to use a British artist or band, because that seemed most apparent in British film trailers, and one that would run alongside the trailer effectively in terms of matching with our narrative and genre. We researched, on Youtube and Soundcloud, multiple artists to see what would be effective with our trailer - looking at artists such as Florence and the Machine, Foals, Alt-J and Calvin Harris. We originally decided to try and 'mash-up' two songs - Hunger of the Pine by Alt-J and Slow Acid by Calvin Harris; after practicing this and seeing if the timings of the two songs together worked well with our trailer, we decided that the two songs were too different to be able to make this idea work. We therefore have decided on using Prelude by Foals.
Below is a screenshot of my asking permission to use the song in our trailer to Transgressive Records, the record label that signed Foals:
Below shows a timeline of our soundtrack that we had orginally chosen but after practicing this with the actual footage, we no longer felt that it worked, hence the reason why we chose Prelude by Foals instead:
Here is the behind-the-scenes/bloopers from filming that we decided to put on our website as one of the hyperlinks; we had seen from research that a few film websites included behind-the-scenes footage on their pages so we decided to follow this convention also.

For our film trailer we originally decided to use Serif MoviePlus, but we have now decided to use a software called Power Director because it is more advanced than Serif and we felt this would be better for our trailer as we could do more with the footage in terms of editing.
Here is a screenshot of the first set of reviews; from our research we saw that existing trailers used fade edits for their reviews, so we originally decided to have do the same with ours in our trailer. However, after browsing through the options Power Director we found that the fade option looked very amatuer so we decided to use a transition called 'amplify vertical' which looked more professional and suited the pace of our trailer much more successfully. To create these kinds of title screens, there is on option on Power Director called 'Title Room' where title screens like our reviews, film title and coming soon/billing block screen could be created.
This above screenshot shows how we have been trimming our footage so that the trailer plays smoothly and links together well. Power Director offers two options to trim a clip, single trim and multi trim. We had to utilise both of the options for our footage but this above screenshot is demonstrating the single trim. The single trim allowed me to 'mark in' the clip at a certain duration and any part of the clip that was unwanted before that point would be trimmed, leaving the rest of the duration past the 'mark in' point. There is also an option for 'mark out' which we also utilised by setting the 'mark out' position towards the end of the clip after we had the part of the video we wanted, meaning any footage past the 'mark out' point has been discarded from our trailer.
Above is a screenshot showing one of the options of how to edit certain footage and clips. After trimming down the clips that we felt were too long or because there were bloopers, and put the footage in order, we looked at the fix/enhance option. With this we could fix the lighting, speed up the footage and stablise the video for any shaky clips. We have decided that for some of our footage, particularly the one seen in the above screenshot, we want to make it brighter, so we used the lighting adjustment to increase the brightness by 90%. This made our trailer look continuous in terms of lighting throughout the trailer, which makes it more aesthetically pleasing and easier for the audience to see.
Here is also the same clip but this shows further ways on how to edit our footage, ranging from video tools, 2D to 3D and video reverse. We thought that this clip above was slighlty slower than the rest of the footage and looked a bit out of place, but we wanted to include it in the trailer, so we used the video speed option and increased the speed of this clip by 1.4X of the original speed. This made this part of the trailer run more smoothly and at the same pace which we think is necessary for the overall outcome of the trailer as the 'party scenes' play a major role in it.
Once we had edited our trailer footage together and we were happy with the order and editing of it, we had to add our soundtrack on top of the trailer. To do this, we uploaded our chosen track - Prelude by Foals - and used the audio mixing room to edit the volume of the track, which we needed to do as we have dialogue in our trailer, so for that to be heard fully we had to decrease the volume of the track at those parts. The above screenshot shows the audio mixing room and how the volume of the track becomes lower as the dialogue appears. This feature also allowed us to overlay other audio on top of the soundtrack we have chosen which we needed as we had decided earlier in the planning stage to have a heartbeat/EEG monitor sound on top of the ending camera shot. Furthermore, as we had a voiceover of our friend reading the lines for the news anchor, the voice-over recording room feature was used to add this part in. Once this had been overlayed on the part where we wanted to hear the news article, we used the audio mixing room again to decrease the volume of the soundtrack and increase the volume of this dialogue so it can be heard clearly.
